Looking for treasure in Kamloops, with a metal detector

It happens more often than you'd think: Shovelling snow, throwing a ball...then losing a ring. A local man tries to reunite people with their lost treasure. We'll take you on a ring find.

A local man is starting a club for exactly that.

James Murphy (Tara Copeland/CBC)

Many of us have experienced the pain of losing a piece of jewelry that carries sentimental value. A brooch from our grandmother. A wedding band.

Well, Kamloops resident James Murphy has a hobby. He has a metal detector. His goal is to reunite people with their lost treasures...and to find some for himself.

James is also a member of a group called Ring Finders. Daybreak's Tara Copeland hit the trails with him recently...to look for gold.
