Late summer bear sightings are nothing new in B.C.
But over the past week the number of bear encounters has gone up dramatically.
Here in Kamloops they've been spotted near Tranquille, in Heffley Creek and at Sun Peaks.
In Revelstoke, in the span of 2 weeks, nine bears had to be destroyed.
WildSafeBC is urging people to be proactive.
