Grab your popcorn! A microcinema just opened in Cambridge

Owners call it the second smallest movie theatre, and it's opening in Cambridge, Ont., Friday. With just 12 seats, The Little Prince Micro-Cinema will be operating out of Galt's Gaslight District. Leigh Cooney, the owner and operator of The Little Prince Micro-Cinema, says it took him a while to open his second location, but he’s already thinking of a third one.

4 schools flagged for possible measles exposure in Waterloo region as cases rise

Waterloo region now has a combined 100 measles cases, 78 of which are confirmed and 22 which are probable. This number is part of the overall count since the outbreak in October last year. 3 youths arrested after police called over fireworks in downtown Kitchener on Victoria Day

Waterloo Regional Police Service say officers made several arrests after reports of people shooting fireworks towards crowds in downtown Kitchener Monday night. Three youths were arrested and investigation is still ongoing.

'It will kill life': Cambridge councillor urging city to curb road salt use

Cambridge councillor Scott Hamilton will speak in front of city council on Tuesday to present a motion about tackling groundwater contamination due to the overuse of road salt. Hamilton’s motion aims to push for changes to liability rules for slip-and-fall accidents. He also wants to create a group made up of experts and a public awareness campaign. His motion will be discussed later in May.

Waterloo region sent out a release Monday morning reminding secondary students with suspension orders of the upcoming May 8 suspension deadline. Secondary students are reminded to get vaccinated, get an exemption if applicable, and update their records with public health on or before May 7.

Fashion History Museum in Cambridge packs up as city terminates lease

The City of Cambridge ended the Fashion History Museum’s lease last week, stating "significant unpaid rent" as the reason. Shocked by the news, co-founders Jonathan Walford and Kenn Norman say they're now scrambling to move thousands of items in their collection while also looking for a new home.
