Here are the federal candidates (so far) in Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County

A federal election has just been called, but the parties have been nominating candidates for several months. Here's a list of who has been announced as candidates in ridings in Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County.

All ridings except Guelph have incumbents running to keep their seats in Ottawa

A federal election has been called and voters will go to the polls on April 28.

Here are the local races and the candidates who have been announced by their parties as running in the next federal election.

More names will be added to this list as they're posted to the Elections Canada website. This list was updated at 12:15 p.m. on March 25.

The candidates are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

Cambridge

  • Lux Burgess, Green Party of Canada.
  • Connie Cody, Conservative Party of Canada.
  • José de Lima, NDP.
  • Bryan May (incumbent), Liberal Party of Canada.

Kitchener Centre

  • Brian Adeba, Liberal.
  • Kelly DeRidder, Conservative.
  • Mike Morrice (incumbent), Green.
  • Wasai Rahimi, People's Party of Canada (PPC).

Kitchener-Conestoga

  • Maya Bozorgzad, NDP.
  • Kevin Dupuis, PPC.
  • Tim Louis (incumbent), Liberal.
  • Doug Treleaven, Conservative.

Kitchener South-Hespeler

  • Valerie Bradford (incumbent), Liberal.
  • Lorne Bruce, NDP.
  • Matt Strauss, Conservative.
  • Randy Williams, PPC.

Waterloo

  • Waseem Botros, Conservative.
  • Bardish Chagger (incumbent), Liberal.
  • Héline Chow, NDP.
  • Simon Guthrie, Green.
  • Douglas Ross, PPC.

Guelph

  • Janice Folk-Dawson, NDP.
  • Gurvir Khaira, Conservative.
  • Dominique O'Rourke, Liberal.
  • Jeff Swackhammer, PPC.
  • Anne-Marie Zajdlik, Green.

Note: Current Liberal MP Lloyd Longfield is not seeking re-election.

Wellington-Halton Hills North

  • Andrew Bascombe, NDP.
  • Michael Chong (incumbent), Conservative.
  • Pamela Geiger, PPC.

Perth-Wellington

  • Wayne Baker, PPC.
  • Kevin Kruchkywich, NDP.
  • David Mackey, Liberal.
