Flood watch cancelled for Grand River, but water levels remain high
Public is also reminded to stay off all ice-covered bodies of water

The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) has terminated a flood watch for the Grand River watershed, but warns water levels are higher than normal.
The GRCA says that while there won't be significant flooding, the rain has left water levels along the water shed higher and could cause flooding in areas that are already used to it.
The flood watch was issued last week due to milder temperatures, rain and melting snow.
"With the forecasted above-freezing temperatures expected this week, the remaining snowpack will continue to melt and release water producing additional runoff resulting in further increases to water levels and flows," GRCA said in a statement Mondya.
"No significant flooding is expected with this event; however, higher flows in local waterways will increase the risk in low-lying areas typically prone to flooding."
Temperatures on Monday hit 11 C and are expected to warm up even higher to 14 C at the end of the week.
The melting ice conditions along the river means the GRCA has cancelled its winter ice fishing activities. The public is also reminded to stay off all ice-covered bodies of water as they will be unsafe.
Also with the high flows the public is encouraged to use extreme caution along the waterway.
The GRCA will monitor river conditions and provide an update as needed.
