HopeSpring cancer centre relocates to The Inn of Waterloo
Cancer support centre will be located in the northwest corner of the hotel
HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre announced Thursday that it would move from its current location on Andrew Street in Kitchener to The Inn of Waterloo on King Street North in Waterloo.
The support centre, which nearly closed its doors earlier this year due to a funding shortfall, will be located in the northwest corner of the hotel, according to a press release.
"We have been blessed with this generous and unique offer of sustainability," said Shuchanna Swaby, board chair. "In our time of need, the Inn came forward with available space that would provide a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the free services we offer."

For 21 years, HopeSpring has provided cancer patients and their families with counselling, support groups, massage therapy and other health and wellness services.
In January, CBC News learned that the centre was planning to close its doors at the end of February, due to a lack of community donations.
However, in recent months the centre was able to raise $300,000 — enough to sustain itself for another year, while the board searched for a new location and a few long-term donors.
"With available space at The Inn of Waterloo, a vision of a new home and new future for Hope Spring came alive," said Sharon Hales, president the company that manages the Inn. "It has been a pleasure working with this great organization so they can continue to operate and help so many people for years to come."
HopeSpring will relocate to the Inn on Sept. 1, with a grand opening celebration to take place later in the fall.
