A water main was hit by a contractor working on a private development in Kitchener Thursday morning, which led to water pressure dropping throughout the city and in parts of Waterloo.

The region did not say how the contractor hit the water main, but the result was water rushing over the work site as well as over King Street and Cameron Street in Kitchener.
