High-risk individuals can now get their updated COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.

The vaccine shots are available through local clinics and the Region of Waterloo Public Health's neighbourhood nursing team.

The public health unit defines "high-risk" individuals as those at risk of getting severely ill with COVID-19, such as children ages five to 11 with an underlying medical condition or adults over 65 living in a long-term care home.

Region of Waterloo Public Health said appointments will be made available for everyone once more vaccines are in.

People currently eligible for a vaccine can book their appointment online through the provincial website or by calling 1-833-943-3900.
