Thieves nab large number of waffle cones from ice cream truck: OPP
Norfolk County OPP dealing with several odd thefts over the weekend
Norfolk County OPP are investigating a bizarre theft from a Cambridge-based ice cream company.
Officers were called on Friday just before noon about a break and enter at a double-decker ice cream bus that was parked in the town of Simcoe, south of Cambridge.
When police arrived, they found a large quantity of waffle cones had been taken.
Const. Ed Sanchuk said officers were a little surprised.
"It just boggles my mind," said Sanchuk. "Right now, we're trying to determine why they took the waffle cones. Maybe they were hungry? I'm not too sure."
It's not the only strange theft Norfolk County OPP are investigating.
Over the weekend, four grey patio cushions were stolen from a homeowner in Simcoe. But just hours before, a patio set from the same street went missing.
"It looks like they removed the initial patio set and came back because initially the patio set that was taken didn't come with any seat coverings," said Sanchuk. "Definitely somebody knows about this theft. If they have that information, they need to contact us."
Police believe the two patio furniture thefts are related.
