Two teen girls reported missing at the end of March have been found, Waterloo regional police say.

Police put out a post on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, on April 7 about the a 15-year-old from Kitchener and 17-year-old from Waterloo. Police said the two had last been seen at the Bramalea City Centre in Brampton on March 29.

In a post on X on Wednesday morning, police said the two had been located and thanked people for their assistance. No other details were provided.

The mother of one of the two teens also posted to social media that the teens had been found. That post was initially public but has since been made private.

In early April, the mother had also said the disappearance may have potentially connected to human trafficking.

"Human trafficking is real and our kids are not safe," she wrote in a now private Facebook post.

Police did not confirm if there was a connection, they did tell CBC News at the time that "anyone with information concerning potential human trafficking is encouraged to contact WRPS's human trafficking team."

It was also noted that supports for victims of human trafficking can be facilitated without contacting police through Victims Services of Waterloo Region.
