The Region of Waterloo could see up to 10 centimetres of snow beginning Thursday afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued a weather travel advisory and is warning drivers about poor conditions heading home from work.

The advisory covers the Region of Waterloo, Guelph, Erin and Southern Wellington County.

The snow is expected to continue into Friday, affecting the morning commute. It is forecast to slowly taper off later in the day.

Environment Canada is predicting this will be the largest snowfall event so far this season.

A deepening low pressure system moving up the Eastern Seaboard from the United States is to blame.
