Waterloo Region municipal election candidate list finalized
The final candidates have filed for October elections across Waterloo Region and Guelph. Three councillors have been acclaimed in unopposed races.
The full list of Waterloo Region candidates who will be vying for municipal office in this October's municipal election – including three council hopefuls who will be acclaimed – has been finalized.
The filing deadline for candidates seeking election passed at 2 p.m. on Friday.
City clerks have confirmed three acclaimed councillors, who are all running unopposed:
- John Gazzola in Kitchener's Ward 3.
- Bob Mavin in Waterloo's Ward 1.
- Melissa Durrell in Waterloo's Ward 7.
