Region of Waterloo yard waste to be picked up starting April 13
City of Kitchener and townships pickup is week of April 20
After delaying yard waste collection last month, the Region of Waterloo says people can put their outdoor spring cleaning to the curb starting next week.
Collection will start in Cambridge and Waterloo on April 13 and continue the next week in Kitchener and the townships, Region of Waterloo Waste Management said.
Waste management said it "greatly appreciated" people's patience but cautioned even though dates have been set, pickup isn't guaranteed.
"Should our collection crews' ability to provide service be impacted by illness, yard waste collection will have to be cancelled," it said in the news release.
It asked if people have the ability to store yard waste or delay putting it out, to do so, and apologized for the inconvenience.
If all goes to plan, yard waste will be picked up on the regular waste collection day, according to the published calendar schedule.
Bulky items are still not being collected, said waste management, which also reminded people that even though the household garbage limit was increased to six bags from four, extra space is only to be used if absolutely necessary.
