A Good Samaritan returned his wallet. Now he wants to find her to thank her properly
Chris Martin didn't even realize he'd lost his wallet until a woman showed up on his doorstep with it
Chris Martin, 58, had just returned to his London, Ont., home after a grocery shopping trip with his daughter, when a young woman arrived at his doorstep holding his wallet.
"I had no idea that I'd even dropped my wallet," said the recently retired Bell Canada employee.
"I was like, 'Oh my God, this is the best birthday present ever.' I was a bit in shock," said Martin whose birthday is on Saturday.
The woman drove the wallet over to Martin's home in London's Cherryhill neighbourhood.
"I must have dropped my wallet after getting the groceries because I paid for the groceries," he said.
Martin has been tallying up the headache it would have been if the young woman had not returned his wallet.
"The tap bank card, the tap Visa, driver's license, health card, cash. You know, it was quite a bit," he said.
So grateful to the young woman who drove to my home to return my wallet I dropped in the <a href="https://twitter.com/FarmBoy?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@FarmBoy</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Beaverbrook?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Beaverbrook</a> parking lot this afternoon. Was so taken aback I don’t feel I properly expressed my sincere thanks, didn’t even realize it was missing. Hope she sees this <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ldnont?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ldnont</a>

"I thanked her, thanked her and thanked her," said Martin. "But I after I realized what she had done and the trouble she saved me. I felt like I just didn't do enough."
But in his state of gratitude and shock, Martin forgot to get the woman's name and she drove away.
He hopes to track her down to properly thank her. He also wants to let people know, "that there are still people out there that are doing good things and good deeds."
"We're in a tumultuous time right now but there's still good."
