Fatal crash east of Sarnia leaves one dead and two injured

A fatal crash along London Line in Plympton Township has left one person dead and two injured.

OPP said the 2-vehicle collision happened just before 9 a.m. Thursday

One person is dead and two others injured after a collision Thursday morning on a county road east of Sarnia.

Police say that a pick-up truck was travelling east bound on London Line while a passenger car was travelling west bound. 

Officers say at some point, one of the vehicles entered the path of the other.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the collision happened at about 8:45 a.m. along London Line, just east of Fairweather Road, in Plympton Township.

The driver of the pick-up truck, an 85-year-old male from St. Clair Township and the driver of the car, a 62-year-old female from Sarnia, were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.

82 year-old Mary Margaret Mullen, the passenger in the pick up truck, was pronounced dead at scene. 

London Line remained closed for hours as police investigated. It is now open to traffic.
