Hey, CBC London is celebrating a birthday

CBC London is one year-old and, to mark the occasion, we're throwing a garden party in downtown London. Live music, tasty treats and CBC London swag will be offered to those who come join us.

Join us Friday, June 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the London Public Library

Yep, one year. That went fast.

Come join staff at CBC London for a celebration to mark our first year serving the community. Our anniversary event is on Friday, June 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Reading Garden at the Central Library along Dundas Street.

Live music, tasty treats and CBC London swag will be offered! Let us know you're coming by RSVP'ing to the Facebook event.

Here's a look at what's planned for the two hours.

Sampling live music 

Hear a live performance by The Light of the East Ensemble, a group of local musicians whose music transports you to faraway lands and is inspired by Middle Eastern traditions. The ensemble performs regularly at festivals throughout southern Ontario.

Serving tasty treats

Sip a delicious iced coffee from local coffee maker, Fire Roasted Coffee. Bags of CBC London's specialty coffee blend, created for the station's launch, will be available for purchase.

Enjoy mini-donuts from food truck, Donut Diva. The team will be serving up custom bites in red velvet and birthday cake flavours.

Styling with sunglasses

Pick up a pair of CBC sunglasses to sport this summer. To get your hands on a pair, you must take a picture, post it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag CBC London along with your well wishes to mark the first anniversary.

Feel free to bring your lunch and see you on Friday over the noon hour. And, thank you London for your making us a part of your day!
