London now has a third bricks-and-mortar cannabis store.

Tweed – located on Wellington Road South near White Oaks mall – opened its doors at 5 p.m. Friday.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario said the store passed its pre-opening inspection earlier in the day.

"They opened up earlier than expected. They want to make sure people can find the perfect product to kick off their long weekend," said Shega Youngson, a senior manager with Tweed, a division of Canopy Growth Corporation, based in Smiths Falls, Ontario.

She said it's Tweed's first store in the province.

"Tweed has been in business since 2014 and our brand is really synonymous with building an education-based retail environment. Our staff know the ins and outs of cannabis. And they can really help guide people toward products that are suited for their experience level and their lifestyle."

Two other cannabis stores in London opened in April. Central Cannabis is at Wonderland Road and Oxford Street, and J. London is located at 691 Richmond Street, south of Oxford.
