Search underway for boat passenger who disappeared swimming in Lake Erie

The Ontario Provincial Police are searching Lake Erie near Port Stanley for a Londoner who went missing during an afternoon swim.

The Ontario Provincial Police are searching Lake Erie near Port Stanley for a Londoner who went missing during an afternoon swim off of a boat.

On Thursday, emergency crews were called to the area at around 3:48 p.m. after the operator of a 25-foot sailing vessel reported that one of their passengers went missing after going for a swim in the lake.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, Canadian Coast Guard and Central Elgin Fire Department are also searching Lake Erie for the missing 64-year old individual.
