Police investigate after child falls to death from east London balcony

London Police say they are assisting the Office of the Chief Coroner in an investigation into the death of a child over the weekend. 

The child was pronounced deceased after lifesaving efforts at hospital

London Police say they are assisting the Office of the Chief Coroner in an investigation into the death of a child over the weekend. 

Police and paramedics responded to a 9-1-1 call at around 12:30 p.m. Saturday to a residence in the area of Lyle Street and King Street. 

A young child was located with life-threatening injuries as a result of falling from a balcony. 

The child was pronounced deceased after lifesaving efforts at the hospital. 

Police are asking the public and media to respect the privacy of the family at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing.
