Weather damage closes Byron pool as other city-run outdoor pools set to open Saturday
Severe weather caused electrical damage to pumping system

The city's outdoor pools are set to open Saturday but one will stay closed for at least a week.
Byron residents hoping to beat the heat with a dip in the public pool will have to wait.
The city announced Thursday that the pool, located at 1330 Brock Ln., is undergoing repairs after its pumping system suffered electrical damage from "the recent severe weather."
The pool will be closed, and all lessons and public swim sessions will be cancelled for the coming week.
Anyone registered for the aquatics programs at Byron Pool can contact the city for a refund.
There is no timeline for how long the repairs will take.
"We know how much the community was looking forward to using the pool this weekend, and we will be working on resolving this issue as quickly as possible," said Jon-Paul McGonigle, the city's director of recreation and sport.
Byron's pool opened for the season on June 7, one of two city-run outdoor pools to open early. Gibbons Park pool has been open since early June.
The city's other outdoor pools are scheduled to open on Saturday.
