How you can help in the aftermath of the Woodman Ave. explosion

The London organization LIFE*SPIN has issued a list of how people can best help those who have been impacted by Wednesday's massive explosion on Woodman Avenue.

The London organization LIFE*SPIN has issued a list of how people can best help those who have been impacted by Wednesday's massive explosion on Woodman Avenue. 

"We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and the way our neighbours come together," said a statement from the organization. 

The following list is compiled by LIFE*SPIN from posts over the past two days: 

Cash:

  1. Charitable Receipted donations can be made at any branch of Libro Credit Union in the OEV Woodman Families account. They will collect your name and mailing address. The fund will be managed by the Disaster Relief Committee of the OEV Community Association.  Charitable Receipts will be issued by LIFE*SPIN in February. LIFE*SPIN can also accept cash donations during business hours.
  2. Online Charitable Receipted Donations can be made at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/id/71194/. Please indicate the Woodman Families Fund. Receipts can be printed from this site. LIFE*SPIN will transfer these donations to our joint account with the Old East Village Community Association (OEVCA) at Libro to be distributed by the OEVCA.

Clothing:

  1. Anderson Craft Ales at 1030 Elias St. will accept donations of clothing and shoes. Sizes in need: boy's 2T, size 6 shoes. Girl's 4T size, 8 shoes. Woman size large or 30/31 pants, size 9 shoes. Men's size medium or 30/32 pants and size 8.5-9 shoes).
  2. ASK Laundry will pick up and launder clothing and return it. Families needing this assistance are asked to text 519-200-8119 for a booking.
  3. Samantha Forrest and Aimee Brewer are willing to assist if you need donations picked up. 

Fundraisers:

  1. Aeolion Hall – London musician Tara Dunphy is organizing a concert and silent auction for Tuesday August 20. She can be reach through a personal message on Facebook, if you have donations for the silent auction.

Gas Reconnection Inspection: 

  1. Donaldson Heating and Air Conditioning will inspect and repair gas lines. They can be reached on Facebook.
  2. Middlesex Mechanical will inspect gas lines. Call them for a booking at 519-709-9591

Gift Cards: 

  1. Anderson's is accepting donations of gift cards.
  2. Superstore collecting donations for cards. 

Other:

  1. School Supplies: Staples (Masonville) is donating school supplies and will drop them off at Fire Roasted Coffee.
  2. Photography Donation: Cheyeen Vanderwoude is offering photo sessions for families who lost their photographs in the disaster.  She can be reached through Facebook for a booking
  3. Furniture:  Fire Roasted Coffee has some storage space; there is not currently a list of what is needed.

Landlord/Tenant Issues:
