2 arrested in shooting death of Winnipeg man

Two people are charged with first-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of a man at a Winnipeg restaurant.

William Moar was known to police and was a former street gang member. (Twitter)

William Edward Moar, 24, was shot in Johnny G’s on Main Street just before 2 a.m. on Feb. 15.

Akech Dut Ajak, 22, was arrested in Winnipeg on Wednesday.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Calgary and transported back to Winnipeg.

Both are detained in police custody.

Police have not said if the shooting was gang related.

Moar was known to police, having been charged in 2009 with aggravated assault along with four others following a vicious beating of 19-year-old man in a West Broadway parking lot.

At the time, Moar was connected to the B-Side street gang.
