Bear Clan says it has 'confirmed sighting' of missing teacher Kevin Dilk
Bear Clan says Dilk was spotted on Des Meurons the day after he was reported missing
The Bear Clan said it has confirmed a reported sighting of missing teacher Kevin Dilk, who disappeared last Wednesday morning.
More than a dozen family members and volunteers with the Bear Clan patrol searched areas along Des Meurons St. Monday morning.
Bear Clan leader James Favel said they are focusing in that area of St. Boniface after learning from a group of searchers on Sunday that Dilk may have been spotted on Nov. 24, the day after Winnipeg police say he was last seen.
"There was a sighting of him on Thursday morning walking south on Des Meurons ... heading south," said Favel Monday.
"I believe he was walking or was seen at a coffee shop in the area," he said.
"So that's where we're focusing our energy today," said Favel.
Dilk is a teacher at Collège Béliveau, a Grade 7 to 12 school in the Louis Riel School Division.
Dilk is about five feet, nine inches tall with a slim build.
He may have been wearing a black leather jacket, button up shirt and jeans and a black hat when he disappeared.
Winnipeg Police said Monday that Dilk was last seen early Wednesday morning but they can't confirm he was leaving for work at the time. CBC has requested police comment on the Bear Clan's report that Dilk was seen Thursday.
Police are still asking anyone with information about the case to call them.
