Cadet cruiser hit while assisting at scene of a previous crash

A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car near the intersection of Inkster Boulevard and McGregor Street around 6:45 p.m. Friday. Around 11:45 p.m. a cadet cruiser was hit while helping out on the scene.

A man was rushed to hospitall after being hit by a car near the intersection of Inkster Boulevard and McGregor Street around 6:45 p.m. Friday.

A 60-year-old man is facing charges related to impaired driving after he smashed the front passenger side of a Winnipeg Police Service Cadet cruiser at 70 km/h on Friday night.

The Ford Escort hit the cruiser around 11:45 p.m. At that time, cadets were helping police investigate the scene where a 21-year-old pedestrian was hit by a vehicle around 6:45 p.m.

Two cadets were in the cruiser when it was hit. They sustained minor injuries, according to police.

The 21-year-old man who was hit earlier on Friday evening was rushed to the hospital shortly after the vehicle that hit him allegedly drove away, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a dark-coloured pickup truck, and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call investigators at 204-986-6271.
