Calli Vanderaa, shot with stolen RCMP gun, returns home from hospital
16-year-old was shot with firearm that was stolen from off-duty RCMP officer's cruiser
Calli Vanderaa, the 16-year-old girl who was shot with a stolen RCMP firearm outside a Winnipeg convenience store, has returned home after recovering in hospital for almost three weeks.
Vanderaa had been at Health Sciences Centre after a gunshot wound pierced her spleen, colon and lungs on Oct. 24.
Her father, Corey Vanderaa, confirmed to CBC News on Friday that she is back home.

Calli was with some friends in the parking lot outside the Mac's convenience store on Autumnwood Drive and Winakwa Road at around 12:30 a.m. when a shot was fired at the vehicle she was sitting in.
The firearm that was used to shoot her had been stolen from the cruiser of an off-duty RCMP officer outside his home in southeast Winnipeg, according to Winnipeg police.
A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder. He and a 25-year-old man face theft and numerous firearms-related charges.
Police have said they do not believe Vanderaa was the intended target.
The incident has raised questions about RCMP policies surrounding the storage of officers' firearms.

On Oct. 30, Vanderaa told CBC News she credits her father with helping her pull through the ordeal.
"I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, I guess," she said.
