A man has been charged with second-degree murder and arson in connection with the death of Justin Chezick.
Romeo Ryle turned himself in to police on Monday.
The body of Chezick, 42, was found July 20 inside a fire-damaged house on the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue in the city's North End.
Members of the Winnipeg police homicide unit had earlier identified Ryle as a suspect but attempts to locate him were unsuccessful so a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Ryle is detained in custody.
