Councillors call for Winnipeg mayor to resign
City of Winnipeg councillors Harvey Smith and Ross Eadie are calling for Mayor Sam Katz to step down.
Eadie cites news about ballooning costs at the new police headquarters as the reason the mayor should resign.

He worries the huge cost overruns at the headquarters on Graham Avenue could cause plans to be cancelled for a new police station that's supposed to be built in the North End.
Sources have told CBC News the overruns to transform the former Canada Post building into the police HQ are now in the range of an additional $10 million to $17 million above previously reported overruns of $28 million.
Eadie's call comes on the heels of upheaval at city hall, caused by a scathing fire hall audit, the resignation of CAO Phil Sheegl, and the firing of fire chief Reid Douglas.
