Henderson Highway crash sends 2 women to hospital

A crash in East Kildonan sent two women to hospital and shut down parts of Henderson Highway Saturday night..

The collision between an SUV and car happened on Henderson Highway near McLeod Avenue in front of the Curtis Gordon Motor Hotel at around 8:45 p.m. 

Winnipeg Police Service says a northbound vehicle hit a southbound vehicle that was making a left-hand turn.

Police say one woman was sent to hospital in serious condition and has since been upgraded to stable. The other woman sustained minor injuries.

Speed is considered a factor, police said.

Winnipeg police were still at the crash site as of 11 a.m. Sunday. The northbound lane of Henderson Highway remains closed while police investigate.
