A 27-year-old man wanted in connection with the assault and forcible confinement of a woman earlier this month has been arrested, Winnipeg police say, while they're still looking for two others.

Romeo Chris Miles was arrested Friday at about 2:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Marion Street, just east of St. Mary's Road, after officers went there for an unrelated matter, police said in a Saturday news release.

He's been charged with robbery, forcible confinement and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a release order. He was detained in custody.

Police say a woman, also 27, was violently assaulted and forcibly restrained over a period of several hours on Dec. 9 at an apartment suite on Carlton Street.

Following the assault, the woman was forced into a dumpster while she was still restrained. She was there for about an hour until she was eventually freed after someone heard her screaming, police said Wednesday. They were alerted about the assault the next day.

Two other people wanted in connection with the woman's assault — Joey Michael Audy, 35, and Evelyn Maria McKay, 40 — remain at large.

Audy is wanted for attempted murder, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, robbery and forcible confinement. McKay is wanted for robbery and forcible confinement.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Lorde Barrios, 28, and Misty Bird, 26, were previously arrested in connection with the incident and charged with forcible confinement, police said Wednesday.
