Former Manitoban Sarah-Anne Brault competed in the women's triathlon Saturday in Rio.

Brault, 26, is a first-time Olympian originally from Quebec City, although she lived in Manitoba until she was 18. She swam in the notorious waters off Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last year for Olympic trial races.

Brault came close to her first career podium two years ago on the World Triathlon Series where she finished fourth at the season-opener in Auckland, New Zealand.
