The Great Ice Show opened in Winnipeg today and features a 12-metre frozen legislative building, an ice slide that peaks at 40 feet and several toboggan runs.

"Very excited," Andy Zhao, one of the organizers, said about opening today.
"You're going to feel proud."
Forty Chinese sculptors carved more than 1,000 blocks of ice into buildings and monuments that make up a crystal city.
Today the restaurant and bar in the ice show will open. Clowns, fireworks, magicians and music will mark the opening weekend on Saturday.
Zhao hopes the show will run until the end of February, but it depends on the weather.
