Missing 73-year-old man found 'safe and sound': Headingley RCMP

The man had last been Saturday morning at 4:50 a.m. at a restaurant located on Portage Avenue in Headingley. Police said he didn't return home from the restaurant, where his car had been left behind.

A 73-year-old man was reported missing on Saturday has been found "safe and sound," Headingley RCMP said. 

The man had last been Saturday morning at 4:50 a.m. at a restaurant located on Portage Avenue in Headingley. Police said he didn't return home from the restaurant, where his car had been left behind. 

Police say a missing person report was filed around 11:30 a.m. that morning. 

In a release on Sunday, RCMP officials thanked the public and the media for their help finding the man.

To protect his privacy, CBC has removed the man's name and photo now that he has been found.
