Man, 22, dead after stabbing in Central Park area of Winnipeg

Police are on the lookout after a fatal stabbing in the Central Park area, just north of downtown, on Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to an apartment on Kennedy Street, near Qu'Appelle Avenue, at about 4 p.m. CT after reports of an injured man.

Officers found a 22-year-old man outside the apartment who was suffering from an upper-body stab wound. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but died of his injuries.

Winnipeg police spokesperson Jay Murray said investigators believe the incident happened outside the apartment on Kennedy.

The death is Winnipeg's 11th homicide of 2017.
