The I-Team gives you tips on how sodium sneaks into our diets under other names, and what you can do to eat less of it.

It's a fact — salt makes most things taste better. It's also a fact that too much sodium is bad for your heath and can lead to high blood pressure, a major risk factor for strokes and other cardiovascular issues.

In Canada we eat more than twice as much salt as we should. There are lots of ways salt can sneak into our diet. Bread is often full of sodium and eating out usually means your dishes will be laced with various forms of sodium. The biggest culprit is processed food, which accounts for 77 per cent of our sodium intake in Canada.
