Teenager wanted by police after Long Plain First Nation homicide

An arrest warrant has been issues for a 16-year-old boy after a homicide on the Long Plain First Nation in Manitoba. (CBC)

An arrest warrant is out for a teenager after a homicide on a Manitoba First Nation.

Police were called out to the Long Plain First Nation, roughly 100 kilometres west of Winnipeg, on Saturday.

RCMP are not releasing the name of the victim.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree murder and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

His name can't be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. 

RCMP are investigating the homicide with the Dakota Ojibway Police Service, which provides policing to several southern Manitoba First Nation communities.
