Manitoba Hydro says the majority of Winnipeggers affected by outages can expect to have their power turned back on by 6 p.m. Monday, although some outages may still occur.
Highs in the 20s, sunny skies and southerly winds. Sure there's a chance of a thunderstorm or two, but Manitoba doesn't always have such a summery forecast for the Victoria Day long weekend.

Last year was a different story, when storms raged through much of southern Manitoba, taking down trees and hydro lines. Temperatures were so chilly parts of the province even got snow. 

Last year, the City of Winnipeg took weeks to clean up all the debris

Then there was 2009, that's when winter temperatures extinguished camping plans and any hope of tanning on a beach.
