Melissa Gabriel, accused in death of elderly St. Boniface woman, has extensive criminal record

The Winnipeg woman accused of killing an 89-year-old St. Boniface woman has an extensive criminal record.

Gabriel, 35, has 43 previous convictions including assaulting police officer, drunk driving

The Winnipeg woman accused of killing an 89-year-old St. Boniface woman has an extensive criminal record.

Melissa Gabriel has 43 previous convictions, ranging from theft to assaulting a police officer to uttering threats.

The list does not include a charge of manslaughter that was laid against Gabriel Monday in connection to the stabbing of an elderly woman police say Gabriel knew.

Gabriel is accused of attacking the woman sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning. 

She is also accused of attacking her own dog after the stabbing. 

In addition to manslaughter, Gabriel is charged with killing or injuring an animal, as well as two counts of probation violation.

The list of Gabriel's convictions, some of which were offences committed multiple times, includes:

Gabriel remains in custody.
