Manitoba RCMP believe a missing woman and wanted man are travelling together, and are very likely in the Winnipeg area and not on their way to Calgary.

The 28-year-old woman left a home in Ile Des Chenes, about 30 km southeast of Winnipeg, early Thursday morning and was picked up by a wanted 29-year-old man. She is five foot four inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The man is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching bail. He's also wanted for assault, threatening, extortion and obstruction of justice, RCMP say. He stands at five feet 10 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

CBC is not identifying the man to protect the missing woman's privacy.

Investigators believe the two are still travelling together, according to uncorroborated tips of possible sightings outside of Winnipeg. Police also believe the two are no longer in the black pick-up truck, but it's unclear whether they are using another vehicle, Manitoba RCMP said in a news release on Monday.

They believe the man is actively avoiding the police. The woman also has an eight-year-old daughter, and her mother as well as investigators are concerned for her safety, RCMP said.

'My daughter is in danger'

Crystal last heard from her daughter on Thursday. She believes the wanted man and her daugher could be anywhere between Winnipeg and Calgary.

CBC is not using Crystal's last name to protect her daughter's privacy.

"This is my daughter and I want her to come home, and she's a mother and her daughter needs her," Crystal said Saturday from Niverville, about 42 km south of Winnipeg.

Crystal described the wanted man as very controlling of her daughter.

"We need people that maybe know them or know of them that are protecting them to come forward anonymously and help get my daughter home," Crystal said.

"My daughter is in danger and anybody that knows where she is, is risking her life by not sharing it."
