If you've ever wanted to see a baby reindeer, the Assiniboine Park Zoo has got you covered. New baby animals are a yearly attraction for visitors to the zoo and springtime is the perfect time to catch a peek.

This spring, baby reindeer and yaks have joined the herds. As well, a newborn musk ox just arrived last Thursday.

"It's a very exciting time of year at the Zoo with so many baby animals and new attractions for our visitors to enjoy," said Gary Lunsford, head of zoological operations.

In addition to the babies, the zoo has welcomed a male Harbour seal named Rupert. He's a hefty guy coming in at 87 kilograms and is about six feet long, making him the largest seal at the zoo.

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.
