Amber Johnston said she was so moved after seeing videos and pictures out of Fort McMurray, she decided to host a fundraiser in Winnipeg.

The Alberta wildfire now sits at 504,443 hectares which is seven times the size of Edmonton. This includes 741 hectares in Saskatchewan.

"Not only is it raising money for a good cause but it's also going to be a fun night, there's a chance to win really cool prizes," said Johnston of the Winnipeg fundraiser.

The South Osborne theatre will host the benefit concert June 2. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased at Music Trader on Osborne Street.

The Park Theatre fundraiser will be the second benefit concert held in Winnipeg since the Fort McMurray wildfires began.
