Policy summit asks people to tweet thoughts on where Manitoba is heading
Non-partisan policy group Manitoba Forward holds event at MET in downtown Winnipeg June 13
An upcoming event at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre in downtown Winnipeg is hoping to draw a crowd in as a panel of experts weigh in on how to improve Manitoba through policy.
Manitoba Forward, a non-partisan public policy group, is holding the digitally interactive summit next month.
The summit will be hosted by guest-speakers like federal Minister for Western Diversification Michelle Rempel, Treaty Relations Commissioner Jamie Wilson, urban planner Robert Galston and public policy expert Brian Kelcey.
Dave Shorr, executive director with Manitoba Forward, said the summit will be live-streamed.
"You don't have to be here to watch it, so you could be in Pukatawagan, you could be in Gillam, Portage la Prairie, you could be in Osborne Village," said Shorr. "You could be an ex-pat living in Australia and you could watch it live-streamed on our site."
Shorr said if people can't make the event to ask questions in person, they can participate through social media online.
"You can tweet in your questions or email your questions and we will ask the speakers right on the spot," Shorr said.
The summit takes place June 13.
