Senior assaulted, vehicle stolen in Crescentwood area

Winnipeg police are looking for suspects after a man in his 70s was robbed near the intersection of Grosvenor Street and Wentworth Avenue.

The man was working delivering newspapers around 2:15 a.m. when two males who appeared to be in their late teens confronted him and demanded his personal property, Winnipeg Police Service said.

The man suffered a serious head wound when he was assaulted with a weapon, police said. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.

His property, including his vehicle, was stolen. On Saturday night, police said the vehicle was recovered. 

Both suspects are described as white males in their late teens. One is described as having a stocky build, while the other is described as having a thinner build.
