Man dies, 2 others hurt in St. Andrews car crash
81-year-old driver pronounced dead at the scene, RCMP say
Selkirk RCMP are investigating after an 81-year-old man was killed and two others were seriously hurt in a two-car crash in the rural municipality of St. Andrews, Man., on Thursday afternoon.
The man who died was driving a car west on Highway 67 when he failed to stop at the intersection with McPhillips Road (Highway 230), police said.
His vehicle hit a car heading north on McPhillips, seriously injuring the 49-year-old man behind the wheel.
The 81-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. His passenger, a 50-year-old woman, was taken to hospital. Her injuries are also serious, police said.
Selkirk RCMP arrived at the crash at 5:50 p.m. on Aug. 10.
Everyone was wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash, police said.
