Jody Brown, 43, and Steven Chevrefils, 35, were found dead in the home they lived in together.

The deaths of the two men, both of whom had children, shocked the small community near Pine Falls-Powerview, Man., about 100 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

St-Georges is home to only about 100 residents.

Crystal Fontaine, a friend of the victims, said Brown and Chevrefils "had hearts made of pure gold" and remembered them as generous.

Raymond Garand, reeve of the Rural Municipality of Alexander, said the two men worked odd jobs in the area.

RCMP said there is no risk to the public at this time.
