The city has re-erected barricades after being pushed to take a second look at Sunday and holiday bike route rules on Winnipeg streets.

On July 15, the city passed a motion approving the closure of certain streets to vehicular traffic. The city was urged to review the policy due to a growing amount of reports of cyclists and drivers getting into arguments.

The motion allows the city to continue the practice of erecting barricades at key access points on Sunday and holiday bicycle routes.

Vehicle traffic is prohibited on Wellington Crescent, Wolseley Avenue, Scotia Street and Lyndale Drive on Sunday and holidays in Winnipeg.
