Santana Genaille charged in 57-year-old man's death

Santana Genaille, 20, of Sapotaweyak Cree Nation has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of a 57-year-old man.
Genaille was charged by Swan River RCMP on July 19. Genaille has been remanded into custody.
The 57-year-old was found dead inside a residence in Sapotaweyak Cree Nation on July 10.
Swan River RCMP responded to a report of an injured male at a residence early that morning at 12:30. Officers and emergency medical services located the man with critical injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Genaille at a nearby residence. Genaille and the deceased knew each other, police said.
Swan River RCMP with assistance from RCMP major crime services and forensic identification services continue to investigate.
