Man charged with impaired driving after woman, 82, dies in rural Manitoba crash
Two people the woman was travelling with were also injured, RCMP say
A 29-year-old man faces impaired driving charges after a crash southwest of Teulon, Man., that left one woman dead and two other people injured.
Officers were called to a two-vehicle collision around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the rural municipality of Rockwood, according to a release from Stonewall RCMP on Monday.
Mounties said a pickup truck travelling south on Road 3 East collided with an SUV travelling east on Highway 415. RCMP say the truck drove into the crossing "when it was unsafe to do so."
An 82-year-old passenger in the SUV was killed. Two men — the 55-year-old driver and a 91-year-old passenger — were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All three were from Teulon.
Two men in the pickup truck, both from Stonewall, were not physically hurt.
The 29-year-old driver was arrested and charged with two impaired driving offences.
RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
