The Trews and Attica Riots have been added to the Grey Cup Festival concert series in Winnipeg.

The Trews and Attica Riots have been added to the Grey Cup Festival concert series in Winnipeg.

Formed on the East Coast and now based in Toronto, The Trews will co-headline the concert series with a show on Nov. 27 at the RBC Convention Centre, alongside The Sheepdogs. Winnipeg rockers Attica Riots will open up the concert.

The Trews have been around for 10 years, putting out five studio albums and being nominated for five Junos in that time.

Grey Cup Festival concert series:

  • Nov 26: Dallas Smith with special guest Aaron Pritchett, RBC Convention Centre.
  • Nov. 27: The Sheepdogs and The Trews with special guest Attica Riots, RBC Convention Centre.
  • Nov. 28: Loverboy with special guests 54-40 and Queen City Kids, MTS Centre.

Winnipeg will host the 103rd Grey Cup, the CFL's championship game, on Nov. 29 at Investors Group Field.

More than 10,000 visitors are expected to make their way to the city for the events and the game. In addition to the concert series, there will be street festivals, tailgate parties, a CFL alumni luncheon, a gala dinner with performances by CBC star Gerry Dee and music icon Randy Bachman, and a post-game party.
