Thelma Krull search: Winnipeggers asked to look out for missing woman's clothes

Winnipeg police are asking hunters and others who'll be out in the woods outside the city this fall to look out for anything that may have belonged to Thelma Krull, who has been missing since July.

The 57-year-old grandmother was last seen on the morning of July 11 as she left her home in the north part of Transcona to go on a hike toward Chief Peguis Trail.

Despite numerous searches by police and Krull's family, she has not been found to date. As well, very few details have emerged to help with the investigation.

"With the beginning of the fall season and the accompanying loss of foliage in the woods, as well as the high volume of hunters who venture out during this time, investigators want to remind people to be cognizant of any items they may find," police said in a news release Monday.

Investigators say they especially want people to be on the lookout for the items of clothing that Krull was wearing at the time of her disappearance. They include:

• A bright reddish-orange T-shirt.
• Black capri-style pants that were three-quarter-length.
• A black fanny pack.
• Tan or brown-coloured hiking-style boots or shoes.

Krull is described as 5-4", 170 pounds, with short dyed blonde hair with a purple streak.

The Winnipeg Police Service's homicide unit is investigating her disappearance.
