Comedy is Funny Again is the perfect example that you don't need to be crass or vulgar to be hilarious. Local improv greats, Stephen Sim and Caity Curtis return again this year to channel George Burns and Gracie Allen and give a performance that, while delivered softly, carries a big laughter stick.

Just like people easily fell in love with Gracie Allen when they first heard her, you'll fall in love with Caity. Sassy, sweet and impersonating Allen's familiar birdlike voice, her illogical logic and zany antics will have you in stitches. While Stephen comes in with the adoring patience and exasperation every good straight man needs.

The duo skillfully weaves through classic vaudeville routines, most notably Abbott and Costello's "Who's On First," which takes on a Canadian twist. Seriously, it's as good as the original. And these two improvisers are not going to finish a show without taking a moment to chat with the audience and create a scene off-the-cuff.

Speak softly and carry a big laughter stick.- Kirsten Neil

"Say, go see this show, Gracie."
